Place butter in iron skillet, then sugar, then nuts. Place over medium flame and bring to boil stirring constantly until mixture reaches 212 degrees.
Continue cooking until it reaches 300 degrees but do not stir after 212 degrees unless butter separates or mixture is browning too rapidly.
After 300 degrees, remove from heat, stirring gently a few seconds. Pour out on lightly greased pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, spread out chocolate when melted. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
Let cool. Break into small pieces, and think of Mom when you take a bite!
