Aunt Deb's Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 C. warm water
  • 1 ½ pkg. yeast
  • C. powdered milk
  • ½ C. sugar
  • 1 t. salt
  • 2 C. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 2½-3 C. flour

Method

In a large bowl mix warm water & yeast.

When dissolved add powdered milk, sugar, salt, and 2 cups flour.
Mix with mixer, then add eggs.
Beat well, then add melted butter.
Next add 2 1/2-3 C flour (Deb uses less than 3 cups).

Change to dough hook, knead until dough forms a ball.
Dough will be VERY sticky.

Put dough into a greased bowl & cover.
Let rise 1 hour in a warm place (oven).

Punch dough down & shape. Divide into thirds.
Roll out each into a circle and cut into wedges.
Spread with soft butter & roll up into crescent shapes.
Put on a cookie sheet. Cover with a towel and let raise 1 hour.

Bake @ 375º for 10-12 min.
Dab hot rolls with butter.

Notes

Deb says when rolling out the dough into circles, to use some extra flour.
